It offers a wide selection of locations across the world — 27 in all — including some regional options for popular destinations. Speeds are generally fast, and the service supports 256-bit encryption and OpenVPN, though, it recommends 128-bit encryption for speed. It’s also based in the United States and promises not to log traffic and VPN usage.
While the desktop clients offer all sorts of configuration options, the iOS app is very straightforward. You log in, pick a destination from a list, and away you go. Speed information is an obvious omission, and it does sometimes disconnect you, too.
There’s no free trial for PIA, but the service does offer a seven-day, money-back guarantee. You can pay $7 a month, $36 for six months, or $40 for the year. That includes support for five simultaneous connections, which makes it good value for the money.

ExpressVPN

With ExpressVPN you can connect to servers in 78 countries worldwide. You’ll also find support for 256-bit encryption and OpenVPN. There’s no logging policy, so you can rest assured the service won’t log your online activities. It’s generally fast and reliable, with good customer support should you need it.
The iOS app shows locations in a list or on a map, too, and you can tap to connect. There are nearly 100 regions to choose from, with the option to set your favorite for later.
You can try ExpressVPN for free for one day. After that, subscriptions run $13 a month, $60 for six months, or $100 for the year. There is also a 30-day, money-back guarantee. However, you can only connect to one mobile device and one computer or laptop simultaneously.

IPVanish VPN

With more than 180 servers in more than 60 countries, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting connected with IPVanish. It promises zero logging, while still managing to offer support for OpenVPN and 256-bit encryption. It also allows P2P traffic, which some services block.
You’ll find the iOS app pretty easy to use. You can browse using location and popular countries. Moreover, regions such as the United States list servers by individual cities. There’s little else to it.
IPVanish is free to try for a day. It has a wide range of subscription plans starting at $2 for seven days. You can also opt for $10 a month, $27 for three months, or $75 annually. It provides unlimited bandwidth, but you can only have two simultaneous connections — one OpenVPN connection and one other protocol (L2TP or PPTP) connection.

Tunnel Bear VPN

Simple to use and packed with cute bear graphics and puns, Tunnel Bear is quickly becoming a popular iOS VPN app. It offers 256-bit encryption and supports minimal logging, though, it doesn’t allow P2P. It offers servers in 15 major countries, and the speeds are generally pretty good.
The iOS app runs on the IPSec protocol, but the company’s other clients use OpenVPN. The app is designed to be simple, requiring you to do little more than tap on a location on the map and wait, as your bear tunnels its way to the new region.
The service allows for 500MB a month of free data if you want to try it out before you buy, but premium subscriptions will run you $4 a month or $30 annually for one iOS device. Opting for the more expensive packages will allow up to five simultaneous connections spanning multiple computers and mobile devices, but it will cost you $7 a month or $50 annually.

Bear in mind that you may need to install the OpenVPN Connect client and follow a guide in order to take advantage of the OpenVPN protocol on iOS. Apple has always wanted consumers to use the iPhone with a single hand hand — hence, the iPhone 6’s new Reachability feature. Simply double-touch the Home button to shift the screen down closer to your thumb, and once you make your selection, it will conveniently slide back up to its natural position. No second hand required.

How to opt out of group iMessages

Certainly a long-sought feature, iPhone 6 users can now opt out of iMessage threads. To do so, launch the Messages app as you would normally, and choose the group thread you’d like to opt out of. It’s a really nice feature, but sadly, it only allows you to leave conversations when everyone included on the thread utilizes iMessage. You can create a Medical ID that’s accessible via the Emergency function located on your device’s lock screen.
To create a Medical ID, launch the Health app as you would normally, and select the Medical ID tab in the lower-right corner. Snapping photos using the volume button is as easy as it sounds. With the Camera app open, simply press either the volume up or down button housed on the left-hand side of the smartphone. The process even works when using a pair of headphones featuring an inline remote and volume keys.

How to sign documents directly on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac

How many people do you know have a fax machine in their house? Not too many. As smartphones, computers, and tablets continue to advance, signing documents virtually is commonplace. Apple users can sign documents using their Mac, iPhone, and iPad all without spending a dime on expensive software or applications.

If you are on the go but still need to sign off on an important item, you can do so using your iPhone or iPad and either Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit PDF. Both applications do basically the same thing, but some folks prefer one over the other.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Step 1.
Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader (formerly called Adobe Acrobat DC) from the App Store.
Step 2.
Open a document and tap and hold the location where you would like your signature to appear and select Signature. You can also select Freehand to draw your signature or make annotations on the document.

Step 3.
Once you tap Signature you will be taken to the signature creation screen. If you’ve already created a signature select Add Signature, and it will be added to the document.

Step 4.
Use your finger or stylus to create your virtual signature. It may take a couple tries to get something legible, but it’s possible. Tap Save when you are happy with your signing and your signature will be added to the document.
Step 5.
Tap and hold the signature to bring up the options menu.

Step 6.
Tap and hold the signature to move it to another location on your document.
Step 7.
After signing the document you can send it to the necessary recipient; no fax or scanning needed.

Foxit PDF

Step 1. Download and install Foxit PDF from the App Store.
Step 2.
Open a document and tap and hold the location where you want your signature and select Signature.

If you’ve already created a signature, when you tap signature your saved signature will be added to the document.
Step 4.
Use your finger or a stylus to create your virtual signature.

Step 4.
With your signature save you can now sign any document with it. Whenever you have a document that you need to sign, tap the Signature icon and all your saved signatures will appear in the drop down-menu.

If you found using the trackpad too difficult you can select the Camera option instead.
Preview - Camera

Step 1.
Follow the directions and sign your name on a blank white paper. When done, hold that paper up tot he camera on your Mac. The camera will scan the signature and recreate it in Preview.

Step 2.
Once the camera gets an accurate portrayal, tap Done to save the signature. Whenever you have document that you need to sign, tap the Signature icon and select one of your saved signatures will appear in the drop-down menu.
Those are three simple ways for any Apple user to sign a document with the need to scan or fax. Preview, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Foxit are all free applications that make creating digital signature super easy.
